My first week here ...thoughts

i have been hear for about a week now, and have not been is such a strange mental place since i was a witness.

it has been good, the programming still kicks in however, but i'm getting less and less afraid to reason with it.

i got my coc book yesterday.... i sat looking at it and thinking of all the years i avoided it, mischaracterized and marginalized it, w/out having any specific knowledge of what was actually in it.

A kiss from my JW friend

i did not share this experience from several years back, partly because i was unsure about whether my identity--and my friend's--would be discovered somehow through it.

i don't think this is likely for me anymore, and as i just recalled it today i thought i'd share it.. a long while back my jw friend "k" got stopped for a driving without a license compounded by a traffic infraction--and was then put in jail because of a silly mistake which was grossly misunderstood as her trying to elude the police!

she was in trauma in jail after being there 2 nights by the time we got her message.

CONVERSATION WITH MY JW SISTER LAST NIGHT......

well i guess this was a long time in coming, but yesterday afternoon, my family all got together and had a bbq at my parents' home.

when my parents left at around 6:00pm to drive my one non-dub sister home, my other sister and brother in law (former elder), stayed for a while longer.. we've never discussed my leaving 'the truth' a couple of years ago but she brought it up last night and we started talking about the religion.

everyone had been drinking but no one was drunk, so alot got said.

BETHELITES - Whatever Became of?

i often times wonder what happened to certain bethelites that i ran around with during my 1990s tenure there.

while there are still a few left there, the greater majority of them aren't there for various reasons (marriage, disillusionment, left the borg, etc).

a couple of cats i wonder about - there was one brother who i believe was from kansas, who got his fingers cut off in a printing press.

dear friends,.

much of what we do on a daily basis is routine and of no particular, earth-shaking importance.

however, after reviewing letters of family going back to wwii, it is fascinating to read what dad was doing on board the aircraft carrier in the pacific on any old day, what mom was cooking on her ever-steaming range, how i was dealing with the roller coaster of emotion at bethel [mom saved all my letters], how nana wrote that she would not study with the witnesses [per my request] but 'here are some mittens i knitted for you when you canvass new york with your magazines.
